Journal ArticleDOI

Recent advances in eco-friendly and cost-effective materials towards sustainable dye-sensitized solar cells

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the most adopted strategies to enhance the sustainability of materials in classical DSSC components (e.g., sensitizer, redox couple, electrolyte and counter-electrode), including smart synthesis and deposition procedures, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of the interaction between fluorescein sodium salt and bovine serum albumin by steady-state fluorescence

TL;DR: The binding of fluorescein sodium salt with three kinds of commercially available bovine serum albumin (BSA) of different grades of purity was investigated at 288, 298 and 313 K by fluorescence and absorption measurements at pH 7.50 as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Why Dyes Should Not Be Used to Test the Photocatalytic Activity of Semiconductor Oxides

TL;DR: The authors discuss herein that the use of dyes in photocatalysis is very problematic, and shows experiments made using TiO2 Degussa (now Evonik) Aeroxide P25 (TiO2 P25) which is well-known to absorb radiation up to about 360 nm; thus, visible light excitation is not possible with this material.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polymethine Dyes in Hybrid Photovoltaics: Structure–Properties Relationships

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of polymethine dyes as photosensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells is presented, highlighting the role of active molecule design on device performance.
