Ru-based magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) for succinic acid synthesis from levulinic acid

TL;DR: Ru(III)/functionalized silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) were proven to be a highly active, selective and easily recoverable catalyst for the oxidation of levulinic acid to succinic acid under green conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Substrate-target distance dependence of structural and optical properties in case of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 films obtained by pulsed laser deposition

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of pulsed laser deposition (PLD) parameters on the structural and optical properties of PZT thin films grown on platinum substrate was analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) and XPS to determine the thin film properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lignin fragmentation over magnetically recyclable composite Co@Nb2O5@Fe3O4 catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a shell of niobia covering the magnetic nanoparticles was deposed from a solution of ammonium niobate (V) oxalate complex by precipitation with NH 3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalytic hydroprocessing of lignin under thermal and ultrasound conditions

TL;DR: In this article, three different classes of catalysts containing nickel as the active species have been prepared in this respect: (i) nano-Ni(0) by reduction of NiCl 2 with NaBH 4 under ultrasonication, (ii) Fe 3 O 4 -(NiMgAlO) x and (iii) NiO(1 1/1) nanosheets by reduction Ni(NO 3 ) 2 with urea using benzyl alcohol as a structure directing agent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sn-Doped Hydroxylated MgF2 Catalysts for the Fast and Selective Saccharification of Cellulose to Glucose

TL;DR: Doped hydroxylated fluorides, prepared by a modified sol-gel method, offer enhanced acidity and improved stability against water, and efficiency in the degradation of cellulose, which offers a feedstock for bioethanol production.
