Journal ArticleDOI
Quenching factor measurement in low pressure gas detector for directional dark matter search
TL;DR: In this paper, the ionization quenching factor for different gas mixture at room temperature has been made with a dedicated ion beam facility at the LPSC of Grenoble.
Journal ArticleDOI
MIMAC: A Micro-TPC Matrix of Chambers for direct detection of Wimps
TL;DR: In this article, the project of a micro-TPC matrix of chambers of 3He and CF4 for direct detection of non-baryonic dark matter is outlined, and the privileged properties of the 3He are highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
MIMAC : A micro-tpc matrix for directional detection of dark matter
Daniel Santos,J. Billard,G. Bosson,O. Bourrion,C. Grignon,O. Guillaudin,F. Mayet,J. P. Richer,Efrain J. Ferrer,Ioannis Giomataris,F.J. Iguaz,J.P. Mols,A. Allaoua,C. Golabek,L. Lebreton +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the MIMAC project has developed a gaseous micro-TPC matrix, filled with 3He, CF4 and/or C4H10.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of particles on the Planck HFI detectors: Ground-based measurements and physical interpretation
A. Catalano,Peter A. R. Ade,Y. Atik,Alain Benoit,E. Bréele,James J. Bock,Philippe Camus,M. Chabot,M. Charra,B. P. Crill,Noël Coron,A. Coulais,Francois-Xavier Désert,L. Fauvet,Y. Giraud-Héraud,O. Rosset,D. Santos,A. Sauvé,Locke D. Spencer,Rashmikant V. Sudiwala +33 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the physical origins of cosmic-ray impacts on the Planck High Frequency Instrument (HFI) detectors and found that the majority of the impacts are due to the absorption of cosmic rays by the silicon die substrate on which the HFI detectors reside.
Journal ArticleDOI
MIMAC low energy electron-recoil discrimination measured with fast neutrons
Q. Riffard,Q. Riffard,Daniel Santos,O. Guillaudin,G. Bosson,O. Bourrion,J. Bouvier,T. Descombes,J. F. Muraz,L. Lebreton,D. Maire,Paul Colas,Ioannis Giomataris,Jose Busto,D. Fouchez,Jürgen Brunner,Charling Tao,Charling Tao +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an original method for electron event rejection based on a multivariate analysis applied to experimental data acquired using monochromatic neutron fields and showed that a 105 rejection power is reachable for electron/recoil discrimination.
