TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the evolution of the galaxy colour-density relation using the data from the First Epoch VIMOS-VLT Deep Survey (VVDS) and confirmed the existence of a steep colour density relation, with the fraction of the reddest/bluest galaxies of the same luminosity increasing(/decreasing) as a function of density.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the evolution of clustering for galaxies with different spectral types from 6495 galaxies with 17.5 1.2 stars and found that star formation activity is progressively increasing, going back in time, in the higher density peaks that today are mostly dominated by old galaxies.
