Journal ArticleDOI

Epidermal response of rainbow trout to Ichthyobodo necator: immunohistochemical and gene expression studies indicate a Th1-/Th2-like switch.

TL;DR: Cytokine profiling including up-regulation of IL-4/13A and IL-10 genes and transcription factor GATA3 connected to the proliferation of IgM producing lymphocytes suggests a partial shift towards a Th2 response associated with the I. necator infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

When similar beginnings lead to different ends: Constraints and diversity in cirripede larval development

TL;DR: Cirripedes are fascinating models for studying both functional constraints and diversity in larval development, with an amazing variation in morphology from sessile suspension feeders that still retain many crustacean characters to parasites that have lost virtually all arthropod traits.
Journal ArticleDOI

SEM studies on the early larval development of Triops cancriformis (Bosc)(Crustacea: Branchiopoda, Notostraca)

TL;DR: The ontogeny of selected features such as trunk limbs and carapace is described, and the homologization of head appendages, follow the develop- ment of the feeding mechanism, and discuss trunk limb ontogenies are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the larval development of Eubranchipus grubii (Crustacea, Branchiopoda, Anostraca), with notes on the basal phylogeny of the Branchiopoda

TL;DR: It is shown that the large, proximal endite of the trunk limbs in the adult Anostraca is actually a fusion product of two smaller endites which make their appearance in the early larval development, and seems most plausible to consider L. rhyniensis a stem lineage anostracan.
