Electrically Conductive Gold-Coated Collagen Nanofibers for Placental-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Enhanced Differentiation and Proliferation
Anamaria Orza,Olga Soritau,Liliana Olenic,Mircea V. Diudea,Adrian Florea,Dan Rus Ciuca,Carmen Mihaela Mihu,Daniel A. Casciano,Alexandru S. Biris +8 more
TL;DR: Gold-coated collagen nanofibers were produced by a single-step reduction process and used for the growth and differentiation of human adult stem cells and were found to be biocompatible and to improve the myocardial and neuronal differentiation process of the mesenchymal stem cells isolated from the placental chorionic component.
Journal Article
Isolation and Characterization of Hepatic Cancer Cells with Stem-Like Properties from Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Ciprian Tomuleasa,Olga Soritau,Dan Rus-Ciuca,Teodora Pop,Daniela Todea,Ofelia Mosteanu,Bogdan Pintea,Vasile Foris,Sergiu Susman,Gabriel Kacso,Alexandru Irimie +10 more
TL;DR: The unique characteristics identified in cancer stem cells explain self-renewal and could drive metastasis in patients that have received treatment for cancer.
Journal Article
Gold nanoparticles conjugated with cisplatin/doxorubicin/capecitabine lower the chemoresistance of hepatocellular carcinoma-derived cancer cells.
Ciprian Tomuleasa,Olga Soritau,Anamaria Orza,Mircea Dudea,Bobe Petrushev,Ofelia Mosteanu,Sergiu Susman,Adrian Florea,Emoke Pall,Mihaela Aldea,Gabriel Kacso,Victor Cristea,Ioana Berindan-Neagoe,Alexandru Irimie +13 more
TL;DR: This approach could offer a new chemotherapy strategy for patients diagnosed with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and proposes a novel platform therapy with minimal toxicity and increased efficacy profiles for the destruction of hepatic cancer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Doxorubicin-Incorporated Nanotherapeutic Delivery System Based on Gelatin-Coated Gold Nanoparticles: Formulation, Drug Release, and Multimodal Imaging of Cellular Internalization
Sorina Suarasan,Monica Focsan,Monica Potara,Olga Soritau,Adrian Florea,Dana Maniu,Simion Astilean +6 more
TL;DR: The high drug loading capacity and effective drug release under pH control combined with the advantage of multimodal visualization inside cells clearly indicate the high potential of the DOX-AuNPs@gelatin delivery system for implementation in nanomedicine.
Journal Article
Isolation and characterization of mesenchymal stem cells from the amniotic membrane.
TL;DR: The isolation and the culture of cells from the amniotic membrane was followed by the determination of the markers of these cells, and cells expressed markers characteristic of stem cells.
