Journal ArticleDOI
P6426The use of direct oral anti-coagulations (DOACs) compared to vitamin k antagonist in patients with left ventricular thrombus after acute myocardial infarction
M Alizadeh,Sotiris Antoniou,Sadeer Fhadil,R Rathod,Oliver P Guttmann,Charles Knight,Adam Timmis,Andrew Wragg,Anthony Mathur,Daniel A. Jones,Andreas Baumbach,D Weeraman,A Beirne +12 more
TL;DR: Improved thrombus resolution in post ACS LV thrombosis in patient treated with DOACs compared to vitamin K antagonists is suggested, accompanied with a better safety profile for the DOAC patients' vs VKA treated patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of enhanced stent visualisation compared to angiography alone to guide percutaneous coronary intervention.
K.C.C. McBeath,Krishnaraj S. Rathod,Krishnaraj S. Rathod,M. Cadd,Anne-Marie Beirne,Anne-Marie Beirne,Oliver P Guttmann,Charles Knight,Rajiv Amersey,Christos V Bourantas,Christos V Bourantas,Andrew Wragg,Andrew Wragg,Elliot J. Smith,Elliot J. Smith,Andreas Baumbach,Anthony Mathur,Anthony Mathur,Daniel A. Jones,Daniel A. Jones +19 more
TL;DR: Routine clinical use of ESV technology during PCI can be useful, and is associated with better medium-term angiographic and clinical outcomes, according to a cohort study based on this institution's percutaneous coronary intervention registry.
Journal ArticleDOI
An observational study assessing the impact of a cardiac arrest centre on patient outcomes after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).
Matthew Kelham,Timothy N Jones,Krishnaraj S. Rathod,Oliver P Guttmann,Alastair G. Proudfoot,Paul Rees,Charles Knight,Muhiddin Ozkor,Andrew Wragg,Ajay Jain,Andreas Baumbach,Anthony Mathur,Daniel A. Jones +12 more
TL;DR: Despite an increase in non-acute coronary syndrome-related OHCA cases, the formation of a centralised invasive heart centre was associated with improved survival in OHCA patients, which suggests there may be a benefit of a cardiac arrest centre model of care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atrial fibrillation and thromboembolism in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — An underestimated risk
Journal ArticleDOI
An observational study of clinical outcomes of everolimus-eluting bioresorbable scaffolds comparing the procedural use of optical coherence tomography against angiography alone.
Stephen Hamshere,Alex Byrne,Oliver P Guttmann,Paul Rees,Christos V. Bourantas,Roshan Weerakody,Andrew Wragg,Charles Knight,Anthony Mathur,Daniel A. Jones +9 more
TL;DR: As visual assessment with angiography has poor specificity for identifying strut malapposition, intracoronary OCT should be undertaken in all patients postinsertion of BVS stents in inexperienced operators to appropriately assess for stent malappposition, and reduce the subsequent risk of MACE.
