Journal ArticleDOI
Wound-dressing materials with antibacterial activity from electrospun polyurethane-dextran nanofiber mats containing ciprofloxacin HCl.
Afeesh Rajan Unnithan,Nasser A.M. Barakat,Nasser A.M. Barakat,P.B. Tirupathi Pichiah,Gopalsamy Gnanasekaran,R. Nirmala,Youn-Soo Cha,Che-Hun Jung,Mohamed H. El-Newehy,Mohamed H. El-Newehy,Hak Yong Kim +10 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the introduced scaffold might be an ideal biomaterial for wound dressing applications and showed good bactericidal activity against both of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular mechanism of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy - An update.
TL;DR: The idea of this review is to bring up to date the recent findings of the mechanism of doxorubicin cardiomyopathies such as calcium dysregulation, endoplasmic reticulum stress, impairment of progenitor cells, activation of immune, ubiquitous system and some other parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatocurative activity of biosynthesized silver nanoparticles fabricated using Andrographis paniculata
Udhayaraj Suriyakalaa,Jacob Joe Antony,Subramanian Suganya,Durairaj Siva,Raman Sukirtha,Soundarrajan Kamalakkannan,P.B. Tirupathi Pichiah,Shanmugam Achiraman +7 more
TL;DR: In vitro radical scavenging assay proved strong antioxidant effect of the AgNPs compared to 5% aqueous leaf extract, indicating the curing effects on CCl(4) induced liver injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-obesity effect of kimchi fermented with Weissella koreensis OK1-6 as starter in high-fat diet-induced obese C57BL/6J mice
TL;DR: The anti‐obesity effects of kimchi fermented either without starter culture or with a specific starter culture, Weissella koreensis OK1‐6, are investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emu oil-based electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds for wound skin tissue engineering
Afeesh Rajan Unnithan,P.B. Tirupathi Pichiah,Gopalsamy Gnanasekaran,Kalaiselvi Seenivasan,Nasser A.M. Barakat,Nasser A.M. Barakat,Youn-Soo Cha,Che-Hun Jung,Achiraman Shanmugam,Hak Yong Kim +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, an emu oil blended nanofibrous membranes scaffolds were fabricated successfully via electrospinning with different composition ratios with polyurethane (PU), which has been reported to have anti-inflammatory properties.
