Reactome pathway analysis: a high-performance in-memory approach

TL;DR: Through the use of highly optimised, in-memory data structures and algorithms, Reactome has achieved a stable, high performance pathway analysis service, enabling the analysis of genome-wide datasets within seconds, allowing interactive exploration and analysis of high throughput data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reactome graph database: Efficient access to complex pathway data.

TL;DR: The Neo4j graph database and its query language, Cypher, provide efficient access to the complex Reactome data model, facilitating easy traversal and knowledge discovery and the Reactome graph database use case shows the power of NoSQL database engines for complex biological data types.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ensembl variation resources.

TL;DR: This paper provides a detailed description of the sources of data and the methods for creating the Ensembl variation databases, and explores the utility of the information by explaining the range of query options available, from using interactive web displays, to online data mining tools and connecting directly to the data servers programmatically.
Journal ArticleDOI

Obesity changes the human gut mycobiome.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that obese patients could be discriminated by their specific fungal composition, which also distinguished metabolically “healthy" from “unhealthy” obesity, and suggest that manipulation of gut mycobiome communities might be a novel target in the treatment of obesity.
