TL;DR: The NIH-TB Cognition Battery is intended to serve as a brief, convenient set of measures to supplement other outcome measures in epidemiologic and longitudinal research and clinical trials and will provide a “common currency” among researchers for comparisons across a wide range of studies and populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Separating the sheep from the goats: Differentiating global categories ☆
TL;DR: For example, this paper found that by 18 months children have developed global conceptual categories of animals and vehicles without yet clearly differentiating basic-level categories within these domains, and not until 30 months did children consistently differentiate the low and moderate basic level contrasts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coherence of Personal Narratives Across the Lifespan: A Multidimensional Model and Coding Method
Elaine Reese,Catherine A. Haden,Lynne Baker-Ward,Patricia J. Bauer,Robyn Fivush,Peter A. Ornstein +5 more
TL;DR: A multidimensional method of coding narrative coherence (the Narrative Coherence Coding Scheme) was derived from the model and is described here, demonstrating the utility of this approach and its potential to guide future research on the developmental foundations of narratives coherence.
Journal ArticleDOI
One thing follows another: Effects of temporal structure on 1- to 2-year-olds' recall of events.
TL;DR: This article used elicited-imitation to test 16-and 20-month-olds' immediate and delayed recall (2-week delay) of familiar and novel events, and found that children as young as 16 months include temporal order information in their representations and that the causal structure of novel events influences their recall.

Remembering the Times of Our Lives: Memory in Infancy and Beyond
TL;DR: In this paper, the development of the neural substrate for declarative memory in infants and very early childhood is discussed. And the "fates" of early memories are discussed.
