Journal ArticleDOI

Role of acidic pH in the susceptibility of intraphagocytic methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains to meropenem and cloxacillin.

TL;DR: The restoration of susceptibility of intraphagocytic of MRSA to MEM and CLX is due to the acidic pH prevailing in phagolysosomes and is mediated by an enhanced binding to penicillin-binding proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cellular toxicity of gentamicin.

TL;DR: Subconjunctival injections of gentamicin induced a lysosomal storage process within the conjunctival fibroblasts in rats, rabbits, and humans, and it is believed human kidneys might present similar alterations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Profile of a Novel Anionic Fluoroquinolone-Delafloxacin.

TL;DR: Delafloxacin shows favorable pharmacological properties, suitability for intravenous, oral, or switch dosing, the lack of many clinically significant drug-drug interactions, and acceptable adverse event profile in registration clinical trials supports its use in the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections, and potentially in other infections, where resistance to other agents, safety, and/or the need for early discharge is of concern.
