Journal ArticleDOI

Calculating forest species diversity with information-theory based indices using sentinel-2A sensor’s of Mahavir Swami Wildlife Sanctuary

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors made an attempt to identify the concentration of species among tree diversity in Mahavir Swami Wildlife Sanctuary, Bundelkhand, India and found that Shannon-Weiner diversity index (H/) was the best index for assessing species richness while Simpson's diversity (D) index was more suited for determining species diversity.

Role of Geospatial Techniques in Forest Resource Management of Sariska Tiger Reserve (Rajasthan), India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the forest management plane of Sariska Tiger Reserve using forest inventory method and geospatial techniques and focus on four forest species types (Anogeissus pendula, Boswellia serrata, mixed Anogeisus butea, and mixed Acacia zizyphus) mainly dominant in the forest cover of SARiska tiger reserve.
Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring of seasonal variability and movement of suspended sediment concentrations along the Thiruvananthapuram coast, southern India, using the Landsat OLI sensor

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral reflectance between coastal water and suspended sediments was computed using the Landsat-8 OLI (Operational Land Imager) sensor images, and the results showed that higher sediment concentrations accumulated at lower depths in coastal water due to wave and current action that seasonally circulated the sediments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing suitability of allometric models for predicting stem volume of Anogeissus pendula Edgew in sariska Tiger Reserve, India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed suitability of allometric models for analyzing morphology traits and predicting volume of an individual tree and selected Anogeissus pendula for developing the appropriate model and estimating its volume.
Book ChapterDOI

Application of geospatial technology in agricultural water management

TL;DR: In this chapter, various geospatial process-based techniques segregated into two different categories, i.e., conventional and advanced, are provided for agricultural water management.
