Journal ArticleDOI

Chromosomal-level assembly of yellow catfish genome using third-generation DNA sequencing and Hi-C analysis

TL;DR: The genomic resources generated in this work not only offer a valuable reference genome for functional genomics studies of yellow catfish to decipher the economic traits and sex determination but also provide important chromosome information for genome comparisons in the wider evolutionary research community.
Journal ArticleDOI

Essential roles of stat5.1/stat5b in controlling fish somatic growth

TL;DR: KEGG analysis indicated that the Stat5 target gene network is predominantly linked to the metabolic pathways, neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction and JAK-STAT signaling pathways, which suggested that Stat5.1 protein could directly regulate the expression of gh1, and stat5.2-deficient zebrafish displayed a normal developmental phenotype during all lifespan.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stat5b Regulates Sexually Dimorphic Gene Expression in Zebrafish Liver.

TL;DR: The data suggest that stat5b should regulate the sexually dimorphic gene expression in zebrafish liver and add in understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying sexual size dimorphism in fish species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin and chromatin remodeling of young X/Y sex chromosomes in catfish with sexual plasticity

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper found that the Y chromosome was at a very early stage of differentiation and no clear evidence of evolutionary strata and classical structure features of recombination suppression for a rather late stage of Y-chromosome evolution were observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Blocking hepatocarcinogenesis by a cytochrome P450 family member with female-preferential expression

TL;DR: The liver-specific CYP39A1 with female-preferential expression was a strong suppressor of HCC development and strategies to up-regulate CYP 39A1 might be promising methods for HCC treatment in both women and men in future.
