Full-scale nanopore system and fractal characteristics of clay-rich lacustrine shale combining FE-SEM, nano-CT, gas adsorption and mercury intrusion porosimetry

TL;DR: In this paper, the geochemistry, pore structure and fractal characteristics of the Upper Cretaceous Nenjiang shale in the Songliao Basin of NE China were investigated, combining geochemistry experiments, physical property analysis, FE-SEM and nano-CT image observation, CO2/N2 gas adsorption, mercury intrusion porosimetry, and methane methane sorption analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diamondoids and thiadiamondoids generated from hydrothermal pyrolysis of crude oil and TSR experiments

TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that diamantanes and thiadiamondoids are generated primarily within the maturity range 0.48-2.1% and 1.2-3.0% EasyRo, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enigmatic super-heavy pyrite formation: Novel mechanistic insights from the aftermath of the Sturtian Snowball Earth

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors analyze the quadruple sulfur isotope systematics of organic-bound sulfur (OS) from the lowermost post-Sturtian Datangpo Formation, South China, and identify two generations of OS formation, each sampling an isotopically distinct sulfate reservoir (δ34S ≈ 26 and 52 −93 ) that differentially impacted its respective, cooccurring pyrite.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin of crude oils from the paleogene Xingouzui formation in the Jiangling depression of Jianghan basin, central China

TL;DR: In this article, a total of 16 fresh source rocks and 23 oil samples were collected and geochemically investigated to clarify the source of organic matters, sedimentary environment and evolution degree.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase fractionation controlling regional distribution of diamondoids: A case study from the Halahatang oil field, Tarim Basin, China

TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed detailed geochemical characterizations of biomarkers and diamondoids of twenty-eight oils from the Halahatang sub-depression in the Tabei area of the Tarim Basin.
