Journal ArticleDOI

Impaired respiratory response to resistive loading during sleep in healthy offspring of patients with obstructive sleep apnea

TL;DR: It is speculated that offspring of OSAS patients with decreased tolerance to IRL may be prone to developing OSAS later on in life, as apparently healthy offspring of patients with OSAS may inherit subtle defects that reduce their ability to compensate for increased loads and maintain upper airway patency during sleep.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular Pathways of Spontaneous and TNF-α–Mediated Neutrophil Apoptosis under Intermittent Hypoxia

TL;DR: Insight is provided into the mechanisms that prolong PMN survival after IH exposure and the essential role played by NF-κB, the p38MAPK signaling pathway, and downstream genes in this process is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circadian rhythms in 6-sulphatoxymelatonin and nocturnal sleep in blind children.

TL;DR: Delayed secretory peaks in aMT6s were significantly associated with disturbed nocturnal sleep and with complaints about morning fatigue in totally blind children.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term melatonin administration does not alter pituitary-gonadal hormone secretion in normal men

TL;DR: Data suggest that long-term melatonin administration does not alter the secretory patterns of reproductive hormones in normal men.
