Surface-Enhanced Infrared Spectroscopic Studies of the Catalytic Behavior of Silver Nanoparticles on a Germanium Substrate

TL;DR: The catalytic activity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on a germanium substrate is reported, and apparently, Br− and I− ions remove the oxide layer from the surface of the germania substrate, facilitating transfer of electrons from the germium to the nitro group of the pNTP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Considerations for Infrared Ultramicrosampling

TL;DR: It is suggested that the use of dilute solutions in small volume will lead to greater potential sensitivity than the microdisk technique, even though cells of greater cross sectional area may have to be used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal Absorbance for Transmission or Reflection Spectra Measured Under Conditions of Constant Detector Noise in the Presence of Stray Radiation

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of stray light on the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) was discussed, and the maximum value of c/sc was found at lower absorbance than is the case if no source of light was present.
Journal Article

Discrimination of normal and malignant gastric tissues with FTIR spectroscopy and principal component analysis.

TL;DR: The results indicated that the difference between cancerous and normal tissues was found in the first principal component of mid-IR spectroscopy and principal componentanalysis (PCA).
