Journal ArticleDOI
Outer-Bank Bars: A New Intra-Channel Architectural Element within Sinuous Submarine Slope Channels
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe an intra-channel architectural element called outer-bank bars, which is unique to sinuous submarine channels and can be up to 1.5 km wide and up to 150 m thick with continuous internal reflectors dipping 1-20° towards the inner bend of the meander loop.
Journal ArticleDOI
Architecture, process, and environmental diversity in a late Cretaceous slope channel system
Benjamin Charles Kneller,Guilherme Bozetti,Richard H. T. Callow,Mason Dykstra,Larissa Hansen,Ian A. Kane,Pan Li,Adam D. McArthur,Amanda Santa Catharina,Thisiane Dos Santos,Philip Thompson +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe variability in the sedimentology, ichnology, palynology, provenance, and inferred sedimentary processes between and within these architectural elements.
