Persistent spin dynamics in the pressurized spin-liquid candidate YbMgGaO$_4$
M. Majumder,Gediminas Simutis,Ines E. Collings,J. C. Orain,T. Dey,Yuesheng Li,Philipp Gegenwart,Alexander A. Tsirlin +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, single-crystal x-ray diffraction, density-functional band-structure calculations, and muon spin relaxation were used to probe pressure evolution of the triangular spin-liquid candidate YbMgGaO$_4.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tracking local magnetic dynamics via high-energy charge excitations in a relativistic Mott insulator
Nicola Nembrini,Nicola Nembrini,Simone Peli,Simone Peli,Francesco Banfi,Gabriele Ferrini,Yogesh Singh,Philipp Gegenwart,Riccardo Comin,Kateryna Foyevtsova,Andrea Damascelli,Adolfo Avella,Claudio Giannetti +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used time and energy-resolved optical spectroscopy to investigate the coupling of electron-hole excitations to the magnetic environment in the relativistic Mott insulator.
Journal ArticleDOI
Superconductivity in clean and disordered nonmagnetic borocarbides
Stefan-Ludwig Drechsler,Helge Rosner,S. V. Shulga,H. Eschrig,J. Freudenberger,G. Fuchs,Konstantin Nenkov,Karl-Hartmut Müller,D. Lipp,A. Gladun,A. Kreyssig,Klaus Koepernik,Philipp Gegenwart,Tomasz Cichorek +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of weak substitutional disorder in the rare-earth intermediate layer in between the NiB-networks was investigated theoretically as well as experimentally, and the suppression of the upper critical field and its positive curvature near Tc were shown to be a highly sensitive measure of small amounts of disorder even at the rare earth site.
Journal ArticleDOI
Classification of materials with divergent magnetic Gr\"uneisen parameter
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors categorize thirteen materials, ranging from heavy fermion metals to frustrated magnets, where such experimental signatures have been found, and show that most of them do not show a zero-field QCP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low-temperature specific heat for off- and near-stoichiometric UAsSe
Tomasz Cichorek,Zygmunt Henkie,Andrzej Wojakowski,Adam Pietraszko,Philipp Gegenwart,Michael Lang,Frank Steglich +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, two UAsSe single crystals with slight variations of the As/Se content ratio have been investigated and the development of the low-T upturn in the resistivity is accompanied by smooth decrease of the Curie temperature.
