Blockchain-empowered sustainable manufacturing and product lifecycle management in industry 4.0: A survey

TL;DR: A survey on blockchain-powered sustainable manufacturing in Industry 4.0 is presented in this article, which sheds new light on urgent issues as part of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Journal ArticleDOI

RFID-based wireless manufacturing for real-time management of job shop WIP inventories.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an affordable approach to shop floor performance improvement by using wireless manufacturing (WM), which relies substantially on wireless devices such as RFID (radio frequency identification) or auto-ID sensors and wireless information networks for the collection and synchronization of the real-time field data from manufacturing workshops.
Journal ArticleDOI

RFID-based wireless manufacturing for walking-worker assembly islands with fixed-position layouts

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an affordable solution to the shop-floor problems by using wireless manufacturing (WM)-an emerging advanced manufacturing technology (AMT), which relies substantially on wireless devices such as radio frequency identification(RFID) auto ID sensors and wireless information networks for the collection and synchronization of the real-time field data from manufacturing workshops.
Journal ArticleDOI

Towards a cyber-physical-social-connected and service-oriented manufacturing paradigm: Social Manufacturing

TL;DR: In this paper, a new Social Manufacturing (SocialM) paradigm and a theoretical basis for future production organization is presented. And three core aspects of SocialM are addressed from the configuration, operation and management perspectives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Makerchain: A blockchain with chemical signature for self-organizing process in social manufacturing

TL;DR: A new decentralized blockchain-driven model, named Makerchain, is presented to handle the cyber-credit of social manufacturing among various makers, and an anti-counterfeiting method composed of chemical signature is proposed to represent unique features of personalized products.
