Journal ArticleDOI
ASCA observations of Seyfert 1 galaxies: II. Relativistic Iron K-alpha emission
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present evidence for widespread relativistic effects in the central regions of active galactic nuclei, including the presence of supermassive black holes in the centers of active galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
ASCA Observations of Seyfert 1 galaxies: III. The Evidence for Absorption & Emission due to Photoionized Gas
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed analysis of the 0.6 - 10 keV spectra of 23 ASCA observations of 18 objects was carried out, and it was shown that the column densities of ionized material are typically in the range N{H,z} approx 10^{21}--10^{23} cm^{-2}, although highly ionized column density up to 10^{24} cm−2} cannot be excluded in some cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sakamoto,Rita M. Sambruna,G. Sato,M. Stamatikos,M. Stamatikos,Michael C. Stroh,T. Ukwata,T. Ukwata,Lisa M. Winter +47 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a catalog of sources detected in the first 22 months of data from the hard X-ray survey (14-195 keV) conducted with the Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) coded mask imager on the Swift satellite.
Journal ArticleDOI
Swift BAT Survey of AGNs
J. Tueller,R. F. Mushotzky,Scott Barthelmy,J. K. Cannizzo,J. K. Cannizzo,N. Gehrels,C. B. Markwardt,C. B. Markwardt,Gerald K. Skinner,Gerald K. Skinner,Lisa M. Winter,Lisa M. Winter +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the first 9 months of data of the Swift BAT survey of AGN in the 14-195 keV band were analyzed and a power law was fit to the logN - log S distribution, and the slope was found to be 1.42+/-0.26.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the results of the analysis of the first 9 months of data of the Swift BAT survey of AGN in the 14-195 keV band and fit a power law to the log N - log S distribution, and found the slope to be 1.42+/-0.14.
