Journal ArticleDOI
Homer1a drives homeostatic scaling-down of excitatory synapses during sleep
Graham H. Diering,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Richard H. Roth,Paul F. Worley,Akhilesh Pandey,Richard L. Huganir +5 more
TL;DR: Using biochemistry, proteomics, and imaging in mice, it is found that during sleep, synapses undergo widespread alterations in composition and signaling, including weakening of synapses through removal and dephosphorylation of synaptic AMPA-type glutamate receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential proteomic analysis of synovial fluid from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis patients
Lavanya Balakrishnan,Mitali Bhattacharjee,Sartaj Ahmad,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Santosh Renuse,Yashwanth Subbannayya,Arivusudar Marimuthu,S Srikanth,Rajesh Raju,M. K. Dhillon,Navjyot Kaur,Ramesh Jois,Vivek Vasudev,YL Ramachandra,Nandini A. Sahasrabuddhe,T. S. Keshava Prasad,T. S. Keshava Prasad,Subburaman Mohan,Harsha Gowda,Subramanian Shankar,Akhilesh Pandey +20 more
TL;DR: The largest identification of proteins from the synovial fluid of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis patients using a quantitative proteomics approach is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of C9orf72 Enhances Autophagic Activity via Deregulated mTOR and TFEB Signaling
Janet Ugolino,Yon Ju Ji,Karen Conchina,Justin Chu,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Akhilesh Pandey,Nathan R. Brady,Anne Hamacher-Brady,Jiou Wang +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the C9orf72-SMCR8 protein complex functions in the regulation of metabolism and provided evidence that loss of C 9orf72 function may contribute to the pathogenesis of relevant diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proteomic analysis of human osteoarthritis synovial fluid
Lavanya Balakrishnan,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Sartaj Ahmad,Mitali Bhattacharjee,Srikanth S. Manda,Santosh Renuse,Dhanashree S. Kelkar,Yashwanth Subbannayya,Rajesh Raju,Renu Goel,Joji Kurian Thomas,Navjyot Kaur,M. K. Dhillon,Shantal Gupta Tankala,Ramesh Jois,Vivek Vasdev,YL Ramachandra,Nandini A. Sahasrabuddhe,T. S. Keshava Prasad,T. S. Keshava Prasad,Subburaman Mohan,Harsha Gowda,Subramanian Shankar,Akhilesh Pandey +23 more
TL;DR: The catalog of proteins generated in this study will further enhance the knowledge regarding the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis and should assist in identifying better biomarkers for early diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of long-lived synaptic proteins by proteomic analysis of synaptosome protein turnover.
Seok Heo,Graham H. Diering,Chan Hyun Na,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Julia L. Bachman,Akhilesh Pandey,Akhilesh Pandey,Richard L. Huganir +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that synapses contain LLPs that may underlie stabile long-lasting changes in synaptic structure and function, which support a potential role for them in synaptic plasticity and learning and memory.
