Journal ArticleDOI

Sodium alginate and gum acacia hydrogels of ZnO nanoparticles show wound healing effect on fibroblast cells

TL;DR: The findings suggest that high concentrations of ZnONPs were toxic to cells but SAGA-ZnonPs hydrogels significantly reduced the toxicity and preserved the beneficial antibacterial and healing effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biogenesis of copper nanoparticles using peel extract of Punica granatum and their antimicrobial activity against opportunistic pathogens

TL;DR: The biologically synthesized CuNPs demonstrated high antibacterial activity against opportunistic pathogens, that is, Micrococcus luteus MTCC 1809, Pseudomonas aeruginosa MTCC 424, Salmonella enterica MTCC 1253 and Enterobactor aerogenes MTCC 2823 in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surfactant assisted nisin loaded chitosan-carageenan nanocapsule synthesis for controlling food pathogens

TL;DR: Nisin loaded chitosan/carageenan nanocapsules were prepared using an ionic complexation method and evaluated for antibacterial activity as discussed by the authors, which showed better antibacterial effect on microbe's in vitro as well as in tomato juice for prolonged periods as compared to the components evaluated separately.
Journal Article

An In Vitro Study of The Antifungal Activity of Silver/Chitosan Nanoformulations Against Important Seed Borne Pathogens.

TL;DR: Tests for the fungal growth revealed that the NFs showed significant inhibition effectiveness, and the possibility to use silver/chitosan NFs as an alternative to fungicides for controlling seed borne phytopathogens is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization of nisin loaded alginate–chitosan–pluronic composite nanoparticles and evaluation against microbes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used three biocompatible polymers (Chitosan, Sodium alginate and pluronic F68) to obtain efficient encapsulation and appropriate particle size.
