Critical Evaluation of Two-Equation Models for Near-Wall Turbulence
TL;DR: In this article, a new K-tau model was proposed for near-wall turbulent flows, which is based on the K-omega model with the same asymptotic behavior.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of two-equation turbulence models for predicting transitional flows
TL;DR: In this paper, an evaluation of the capabilities and limitations of four low-Reynolds number two-equation turbulence models for predicting bypass transition on a flat plate has been conducted.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A critical evaluation of two-equation models for near wall turbulence
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of Nonequilibrium Turbulent Flows with Explicit Algebraic Stress Models
TL;DR: In this article, an explicit algebraic stress equation, developed by Gatski and Speziale, is used in the framework of the K-UJ and K-e formulations to predict two-dimensional separated turbulent flows.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting equilibrium states with Reynolds stress closures in channel flow and homogeneous shear flow
Ridha Abid,Charles G. Speziale +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that if a second-order closure model is calibrated to yield good equilibrium values for homogeneous shear flow, it will also yield good results for the log-layer of channel flow provided that the Rotta coefficient is not too far removed from one.
