Valganciclovir for cytomegalovirus prophylaxis in liver transplant recipients

TL;DR: It is felt the overall low rate of CMV disease in the study was similar to that reported in other large studies which used prospective surveillance methods, and the authors concluded that valganciclovir prophylaxis was ineffective in liver transplant recipients.

TL;DR: This study found that gender aspects of culture may in fact play a role in decisions to list or not list, as evidenced by the greater percentage of women who were not listed because of active substance use and lower rates of substance use treatment.
