A review of biomass-derived heterogeneous catalyst for a sustainable biodiesel production

TL;DR: A review of bio-based heterogeneous catalysts utilized for sustainable biodiesel production and their suitability for industrial application is presented in this article, where the use of these biomass derived catalysts provides a greener synthesis route for biodiesel synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial assessment and source identification of heavy metals pollution in surface water using several chemometric techniques.

TL;DR: The results revealed that one state representing each cluster (northern and southern regions) is significant as the main location for investigating heavy metal concentration in the Straits of Malacca which would save monitoring cost and time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of biodiesel production by solid acid catalyst derived from coconut shell via response surface methodology

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel acid catalyst was prepared via sulfonation of incompletely carbonized coconut shell using concentrated sulfuric acid, and the design of experiments were performed using four factor-three-level central composite design coupled with response surface methodology to evaluate the interaction between two factors to determine the optimum process conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of Total Suspended Sediment and Bed Sediment Grains in Upstream Areas of Lata Berangin, Terengganu

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was carried out in the upstream area, Lata Berangin, Hulu Keruak, Besut, Terengganu, and Besut to prove the sedimentation problem, especially the formation of total suspended sediment (TSS) and the bed sediment grain size.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification source of variation on regional impact of air quality pattern using chemometric

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis (HACA), discriminant analysis (DA), principal component analysis (PCA), factor analysis (FA), and multiple linear regressions (MLR) for assessing the air quality data and air pollution sources pattern recognition were applied.
