Journal ArticleDOI

Discrimination of the number of sequential events by rats

TL;DR: It was found that rats can discriminate number, even when temporal cues are controlled, and classified by number when this total sound duration was put in conflict with number.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nutrients That Modify the Speed of Internal Clock and Memory Storage Processes

TL;DR: The behavioral patterns produced by the nutrients were interpreted in terms of precursor effects on central neurotransmitter synthesis and release, psychological stages of an information-processing model, and mathematical parameters of a scalar timing theory.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effective use of secondary data.

TL;DR: In the field of animal cognition, secondary data analysis can also be based on the original data if the original dataset is available in an archive as mentioned in this paper, which is the case in many animal cognition studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arginine vasopressin innoculates against age-related increases in sodium-dependent high affinity choline uptake and discrepancies in the content of temporal memory

TL;DR: Systemic injections of arginine vasopressin to mature rats trained on a positively reinforced timing task prevented the age-related discrepancies in the content of temporal memory and the increases in sodium-dependent high affinity choline uptake in the frontal cortex observed in control rats when the rats became aged.
