Journal ArticleDOI
X-ray absorption spectroscopy of iron-tyrosinate proteins
Journal ArticleDOI
Substrate specificities and properties of human phospholipases A2 in a mixed vesicle model.
TL;DR: It is shown that both human enzymes bind tightly to DMPM vesicles and follow the basic characteristics of processive hydrolysis in this model using analysis of progress curves and substrate competition experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fatty acid and phospholipid selectivity of different phospholipase A2 enzymes studied by using a mammalian membrane as substrate
TL;DR: Data indicate that the 110 kDa PLA2 selectively releases AA from U937 membranes, whereas Type I and Type II PLA2 release a variety of unsaturated fatty acids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid reaction studies on the oxygenation reactions of catechol dioxygenase.
TL;DR: Two sequential enzyme intermediates have been resolved and their visible spectra characterized by computer-assisted methods, and intermediate I is suggested to be a 6-hydroperoxycyclohexa-3,5-diene-1-one and intermediate II is proposed to be an enzyme-product complex based on the resemblance of itsvisible spectra to those of the benzoate complex of catechol 1,2-dioxygenase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resonance Raman studies of pyrocatechase-inhibitor complexes.
TL;DR: The resonance Raman spectra of native pyrocatechase and its benzoate and phenolate complexes were investigated by using the available lines of an argon and a krypton laser to provide evidence for the presence of two distinct tyrosines coordinated to the active-site iron.
