Journal ArticleDOI

Species within the Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) Complex in Soybean and Bean Crops in Argentina

TL;DR: Applying the species assignment rules of recent studies suggests that the individuals from Argentina form a separate species, suggesting that Argentina has two indigenous species belonging to the B. tabaci cryptic species complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geographical distribution and first molecular detection of an Emaravirus, High Plains wheat mosaic virus , in Argentina

TL;DR: Results highlight the importance of certification of viruses-free cereal seeds and strict controls for material transfer between different countries to prevent the entry not only of new pathogens but also of new variants or strain at sites where the pest has already been detected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence of begomoviruses and climatic characterisation of Bemisia tabaci-geminivirus complex in soybean and bean in Argentina

TL;DR: Se ha obtenido un mapa con the probabilidad of ocurrencia of B. tabacigeminivirus, sobre the base of caracteristicas climaticas son consistentes with las identificadas en un modelo descrito anteriormente.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and biological characterization of Barley yellow striate mosaic virus (BYSMV): a new wheat disease in Argentina.

TL;DR: The results showed that this new disease of wheat crops in Argentina is caused by Barley yellow striate mosaic virus (BYSMV), a widely distributed virus that can be transmitted to other crops such as barley, oat and triticale.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction of South American wheat genotypes to wheat streak mosaic virus

TL;DR: Nine Argentine and Brazilian wheat cultivars including eight from Brazil and KS93WGR27/ProINRA Super from Argentina were tolerant to or uninfected with WSMV isolate GM-2009 under both conditions but susceptible to isolate MJ-2010, while the American cultivar MACE was resistant against the two Argentinian W SMV isolates.
