Journal ArticleDOI
Species within the Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) Complex in Soybean and Bean Crops in Argentina
V. Alemandri,P. J. De Barro,Nicolás Bejerman,E.B. Argüello Caro,Analía Delina Dumón,M.F. Mattio,S. M. Rodríguez,G. Truol +7 more
TL;DR: Applying the species assignment rules of recent studies suggests that the individuals from Argentina form a separate species, suggesting that Argentina has two indigenous species belonging to the B. tabaci cryptic species complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Three Members of the Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) Cryptic Species Complex Occur Sympatrically in Argentine Horticultural Crops
V. Alemandri,C. G. Vaghi Medina,Analía Delina Dumón,E.B. Argüello Caro,M.F. Mattio,S. García Medina,P. M. López Lambertini,G. Truol +7 more
TL;DR: This study identifies B. tabaci species present in bean, melon, and tomato crops in Argentina by applying phylogenetic analyses and pairwise comparison of genetic distances of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) sequences and provides the first report of MEAM1 in common bean and melon.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mal de Río Cuarto virus infection causes hormone imbalance and sugar accumulation in wheat leaves.
Luis Alejandro de Haro,Sofía Maité Arellano,Ondřej Novák,Regina Feil,Analía Delina Dumón,M.F. Mattio,Danuše Tarkowská,Gabriela Llauger,Miroslav Strnad,John E. Lunn,Stephen Pearce,Carlos Maria Figueroa,Mariana del Vas +12 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that MRCV causes a profound hormonal imbalance that, together with alterations in sugar partitioning, could account for the symptoms observed in M RCV-infected plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete genome sequence of maize yellow striate virus, a new cytorhabdovirus infecting maize and wheat crops in Argentina
Fernanda Maurino,Fernanda Maurino,Analía Delina Dumón,Gabriela Llauger,V. Alemandri,Luis Alejandro de Haro,Luis Alejandro de Haro,M Fernanda Mattio,Mariana del Vas,Mariana del Vas,Irma Graciela Laguna,Irma Graciela Laguna,María de la Paz Giménez Pecci +12 more
TL;DR: The complete genome was obtained of two isolates of maize yellow striate virus (MYSV), a putative new rhabdovirus, differing by only 0.4% at the nucleotide level, andylogenetic analysis suggested that the MYSV isolates are new members of the genus Cytorhabdavirus, family Rhabdviridae.
Journal ArticleDOI
High Viral Load in the Planthopper Vector Delphacodes kuscheli (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) is Associated With Successful Transmission of Mal de Río Cuarto Virus
Evangelina Beatriz Argüello Caro,Guillermo Andrés Maroniche,Analía Delina Dumón,Monica Beatriz Sagadin,Mariana del Vas,G. Truol +5 more
TL;DR: This is the first precise quantitative analysis of MRCV in its main vector species and will definitely contribute to better understand planthopper—Fijivirus interactions and its epidemiological implications.
