Journal ArticleDOI
Soil bacteria Cupriavidus sp. mediates the extracellular synthesis of antibacterial silver nanoparticles
Fuad Ameen,Sami AlYahya,Muthusamy Govarthanan,N. ALjahdali,Nouf M. Al-Enazi,Khawla Alsamhary,Wafa A. Alshehri,Suaad S. Alwakeel,Suliman A. Alharbi +8 more
TL;DR: A need to use several pathogens in nano biomedical studies, and a need to search nanoparticles with high efficiency against a broad spectrum of pathogens, is indicated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Padina boryana mediated green synthesis of crystalline palladium nanoparticles as potential nanodrug against multidrug resistant bacteria and cancer cells.
TL;DR: In this paper, a brown alga Padina boryana (PB-extract) was used to extract nano-specific features of palladium nanoparticles (Pd-NPs) for clinical treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histopathological studies of experimental Aeromonas hydrophila infection in blue tilapia, Oreochromis aureus.
Sami AlYahya,Fuad Ameen,Khalidah S. Al-Niaeem,Bashar Abdul-Hussain Al-Sa'adi,Sarfaraz Hadi,Ashraf A. Mostafa,Ashraf A. Mostafa +6 more
TL;DR: Blue tilapia was experimentally infected with Aeromonas hydrophila, a bacterium that damages the gills, liver, and intestine, resulting in histopathological changes in the infected organs, showing an aggregation of hemocytes with cell necrosis in gills; a massive aggregation of Hemocytes and pyknotic nuclei in the hepatopancreas; and a lower rate of hemocyte aggregation in the digestive system of the infected fish.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insecticidal activity of camphene, zerumbone and α-humulene from Cheilocostus speciosus rhizome essential oil against the Old-World bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera.
Giovanni Benelli,Giovanni Benelli,Marimuthu Govindarajan,Marimuthu Govindarajan,Mohan Rajeswary,Baskaralingam Vaseeharan,Sami AlYahya,Naiyf S. Alharbi,Shine Kadaikunnan,Jamal M. Khaled,Filippo Maggi +10 more
TL;DR: This study represents the first report on the toxicity of C. speciosus essential oil against insect pests of agricultural and medical veterinary importance, highlighting that camphene, zerumbone and α-humulene have a promising potential as eco-friendly botanical insecticides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Biosynthesized ZnO Nanoparticles on Multi-Drug Resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
Syed Ghazanfar Ali,Mohammad Azam Ansari,Mohammad A. Alzohairy,Mohammad N. Alomary,Mohammad Jalal,Sami AlYahya,Sarah Mousa Asiri,Haris M. Khan +7 more
TL;DR: The present study focuses on the biosynthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) using the seed extract of Butea monsoperma and their effect on to the quorum-mediated virulence factors of multidrug-resistant clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa at sub minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
