Lipid-polymer conjugates and liposomes

TL;DR: In this paper, a lipid-polymer conjugate for long-circulating liposomes is presented. But the conjugates do not include a vesicle-forming lipid having convalently attached to its polar head group, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone or polyaspartamide.
Journal ArticleDOI

New amphipatic polymer-lipid conjugates forming long-circulating reticuloendothelial system-evading liposomes.

TL;DR: This is the first demonstration of protection from rapid recognition and clearance conveyed by alternative polymers, which is equal to the effect of PEG.

Solid-tumor treatment method

TL;DR: In this article, a method of administering an anti-tumor compound to a subject is disclosed, which includes a surface coating of polyethylene glycol chains, at a surface concentration thereof sufficient to extend the blood circulation time of the liposomes severalfold over that of liposome in the absence of such coating, and surface-attached antibody molecules effective to bind specifically to tumorassociated antigens present at the tumor site.
Journal ArticleDOI

Liposomes with detachable polymer coating: destabilization and fusion of dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine vesicles triggered by cleavage of surface-grafted poly(ethylene glycol).

TL;DR: While formulation of pH‐sensitive DOPE/cholesterol hemisuccinate liposomes with mPEG‐DTP‐DSPE abolished the pH sensitivity, cleavage of the PEG chains completely restored this property.
