Impact of Body Weight and Extreme Obesity on the Presentation, Treatment, and In-Hospital Outcomes of 50,149 Patients With ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: Results From the NCDR (National Cardiovascular Data Registry)
Sandeep R. Das,Karen P. Alexander,Anita Y. Chen,Tiffany M. Powell-Wiley,Deborah B. Diercks,Eric D. Peterson,Matthew T. Roe,James A. de Lemos +7 more
TL;DR: Patients with extreme obesity present with STEMI at younger ages and have less extensive coronary artery disease, better left ventricular systolic function, and similar processes and quality of care; despite these advantages, extreme obesity remains independently associated with higher in-hospital mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Higher Natriuretic Peptide Levels Associate With a Favorable Adipose Tissue Distribution Profile
Ian J. Neeland,Benjamin R. Winders,Benjamin R. Winders,Colby R. Ayers,Sandeep R. Das,Alice Y. Chang,Jarett D. Berry,Amit Khera,Darren K. McGuire,Gloria Lena Vega,James A. de Lemos,Aslan T. Turer +11 more
TL;DR: Higher natriuretic peptide levels were independently associated with a favorable adiposity profile, characterized by decreased visceral and liver fat and increased lower body fat, suggesting a link between the heart and adipose tissue distribution mediated through natriUREtic peptides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between perceptions about neighborhood environment and prevalent obesity: data from the dallas heart study
Tiffany M. Powell-Wiley,Colby R. Ayers,James A. de Lemos,Susan G. Lakoski,Gloria Lena Vega,Scott M. Grundy,Sandeep R. Das,Kamakki Banks-Richard,Michelle A. Albert +8 more
TL;DR: The association between perceptions of neighborhood environment and obesity among 5,907 participants in the Dallas Heart Study, a multi‐ethnic, probability‐based sample of Dallas County residents was examined.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Cardiovascular Quality Improvement and Care Innovation Consortium: Inception of a Multicenter Collaborative to Improve Cardiovascular Care.
Steven M. Bradley,Srinath Adusumalli,Amit P. Amin,William B. Borden,Sandeep R. Das,William E. Downey,Joseph E. Ebinger,Joy Gelbman,Ty J. Gluckman,Abhinav Goyal,Divya Gupta,Umesh N. Khot,Andrew E. Levy,Andrew E. Levy,R. Kannan Mutharasan,Pam Rush,Craig Strauss,Satya Shreenivas,P. Michael Ho,P. Michael Ho +19 more
TL;DR: The Cardiovascular Quality Improvement and Care Innovation Consortium (CQIC) as mentioned in this paper is a multicenter quality improvement and care innovation consortium that seeks to rapidly improve cardiovascular care by developing, implementing, and evaluating multicenter QI projects using innovative care designs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of agreement of two high sensitivity troponin assays during an institutional transition
Samuel McDonald,Jakub Furmaga,Rebecca Vigen,Alagarraju Muthukumar,Hurst M. Hall,Aslan T. Turer,Sandeep R. Das,ames A. de Lemos,Deborah B. Diercks +8 more
TL;DR: There was moderate correlation seen during a recent institutional transition between the two high sensitivity troponin assays, but differential bias with lower hs-cTnI thanhs- cTnT at low levels and higher hs
