Journal ArticleDOI

Vaccination with proteins involved in tick-pathogen interactions reduces vector infestations and pathogen infection.

TL;DR: The positive correlation between antigen-specific antibody titers and reduction of tick infestations and pathogen infection strongly suggested that the effect of the vaccine was the result of the antibody response in vaccinated cattle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Approaches towards tick and tick-borne diseases control

TL;DR: Vaccines based on the Bm86 tick antigen were used in the first commercially available cattle tick vaccines and showed good results in reducing tick numbers, affecting weight and reproductive performance of female ticks which resulted in reduction of cattle tick populations over time and consequently lower reduction of the pathogen agents they carry.
