Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-lattice inner structures for high-strength and light-weight in metal selective laser melting process

TL;DR: In this paper, a new lightweight design method using two types of lattice structures considering the manufacturability in the metal selective laser melting (SLM) and structural characteristics is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermo-mechanical improvement of Inconel 718 using ex situ boron nitride-reinforced composites processed by laser powder bed fusion.

TL;DR: The wear resistance of the composite improved compared to the unreinforced IN718, indicated by a decrease in the coefficient of friction (COF) from 0.43 to 0.31 at 2400 s, and the BN has an exfoliated surface and intrinsically high sliding and lubricating characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective compositional range exclusion via directed energy deposition to produce a defect-free Inconel 718/SS 316L functionally graded material

TL;DR: In this article, a functionally graded material (FGM) with a compositional range of Ni-based Inconel superalloy (Inconel 718) and Fe-based stainless steel (SS 316L) via DED was examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Additive manufacturing of a shift block via laser powder bed fusion: the simultaneous utilisation of optimised topology and a lattice structure

TL;DR: In this article, the precise shape of a shift block support for the turbine blade of a hovercraft was additively manufactured using 17-4 precipitation-hardened stainless steel (STS 630) powder through laser powder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vacuolar Trafficking Protein VPS38 Is Dispensable for Autophagy.

TL;DR: It is concluded that Arabidopsis VPS38 is dispensable for autophagy but essential for efficient targeting of biosynthetic and endocytic cargo to the vacuole.
