Journal ArticleDOI
Decreased Morbidity of Laparoscopic Distal Gastrectomy Compared With Open Distal Gastrectomy for Stage I Gastric Cancer: Short-term Outcomes From a Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial (KLASS-01).
Wook Kim,Hyung Ho Kim,Sang-Uk Han,Min Chan Kim,Woo Jin Hyung,Seung Wan Ryu,Gyu Seok Cho,Chan Young Kim,Han-Kwang Yang,Do Joong Park,Kyo Young Song,Sang-Il Lee,Seung Yub Ryu,Joo Ho Lee,Hyuk Joon Lee +14 more
TL;DR: LADG for patients with clinical stage I gastric cancer is safe and has a benefit of lower occurrence of wound complication compared with conventional ODG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Laparoscopic Distal Gastrectomy vs Open Distal Gastrectomy on Long-term Survival Among Patients With Stage I Gastric Cancer The KLASS-01 Randomized Clinical Trial
Hyung Ho Kim,Sang-Uk Han,Min Chan Kim,Wook Kim,Hyuk Joon Lee,Seung Wan Ryu,Gyu Seok Cho,Chan Young Kim,Han-Kwang Yang,Do Joong Park,Kyo Young Song,Sang-Il Lee,Seong Yeob Ryu,Joo Ho Lee,Woo Jin Hyung +14 more
TL;DR: The KLASS-01 trial revealed similar overall and cancer-specific survival rates between patients receiving laparoscopic and open distal gastrectomy, and confirmed Laparoscopic distal Gastrointestinal Surgery is an oncologically safe alternative to open surgery for stage I gastric cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative study of laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy and open distal gastrectomy.
TL;DR: LADG with lymph node dissection after a learning curve has several advantages compared with ODG, namely, less inflammatory reaction, rapid return of gastrointestinal function, and shorter hospital stay without compromising operation time or operative curability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective randomized controlled trial (phase III) to comparing laparoscopic distal gastrectomy with open distal gastrectomy for gastric adenocarcinoma (KLASS 01)
Hyung Ho Kim,Sang-Uk Han,Min Chan Kim,Woo Jin Hyung,Wook Kim,Hyuk Joon Lee,Seung Wan Ryu,Gyu Seok Cho,Chan Young Kim,Han-Kwang Yang,Do Joong Park,Kyo Young Song,Sang-Il Lee,Seong Yeob Ryu,Joo Ho Lee +14 more
TL;DR: A randomized controlled trial to evaluate the long-term outcomes of laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer is currently ongoing in Korea with patients with cT1N0M0-cT2aN 0M0 (American Joint Committee on Cancer, 6th edition).
Journal ArticleDOI
Sporadic Early-Onset Diffuse Gastric Cancers Have High Frequency of Somatic CDH1 Alterations, but Low Frequency of Somatic RHOA Mutations Compared With Late-Onset Cancers.
Soo Young Cho,Jun Won Park,Yang Liu,Young Soo Park,Ju Hee Kim,Hanna Yang,Hyejin Um,Woo Ri Ko,Byung Il Lee,Sun Young Kwon,Seung Wan Ryu,Chae Hwa Kwon,Do Youn Park,Jae Hyuk Lee,Sang-Il Lee,Kyu Sang Song,Hoon Hur,Sang-Uk Han,Hee-Kyung Chang,Su Jin Kim,Byung-Sik Kim,Jeong-Hwan Yook,Moon-Won Yoo,Beom Su Kim,In Seob Lee,Myeong-Cherl Kook,Nina Thiessen,An He,Chip Stewart,Andrew Dunford,Jaegil Kim,Juliann Shih,Juliann Shih,Gordon Saksena,Andrew D. Cherniack,Andrew D. Cherniack,Steven E. Schumacher,Amaro-Taylor Weiner,Mara Rosenberg,Gad Getz,Eun Gyeong Yang,Min Hee Ryu,Adam J. Bass,Adam J. Bass,Hark Kyun Kim +44 more
TL;DR: CDH1 alterations, but not RHOA mutations, were associated with shorter survival times of patients, which might account for the aggressive clinical course of early-onset gastric cancer.
