Abstract WP136: Recurrent Intracerebral Hemorrhage In Patients With Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy
TL;DR: Patients admitted for ICH with a secondary diagnosis of CAA are three times more likely to have readmissions for recurrent ICH compared to patients without CAA, indicating an increased risk of recurrent intracerebral hemorrhage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiple brain arteriovenous malformations: systematic review and individual patient data meta-analysis
J. E. Basilio-Flores,J. Aguilar-Melgar,Cynthia Zevallos,Remy Aguirre-Carbajo,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,H. Pacheco-Fernandez Baca +5 more

Abstract 89: Nimodipine-induced Blood Pressure Reductions Below Personalized Limits Of Autoregulation Are Associated With Worse Outcomes After Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
David Bartolome,Yelyzaveta Begunova,Ayush Prasad,Alexandria L Soto,Jessica Kobsa,Ilayda Top,Darko Quispe-Orozco,Mudassir Farooqui,Cynthia Zevallos,Jennifer A. Kim,Emily J. Gilmore,Rachel Beekman,Adam de Havenon,Charles C. Matouk,Kevin N. Sheth,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,Nils H Petersen +16 more
TL;DR: Nimodipine-induced BP reductions below the LLA may increase the risk of secondary brain injury and poor functional outcomes and a more personalized treatment approach accounting for cerebral autoregulation status could help identify vulnerable patients and maximize the benefit from current clinical interventions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abstract Number ‐ 145: Impact of Landmark Trials on Intracranial Stenting Utilization for Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease in the US
Fadar O Otite,Smit Patel,Haydn Hoffman,Ameer E Hassan,Osama O. Zaidat,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,Dileep R. Yavagal,Priyank Khandelwal +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors describe national trends in the utilization of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting (PTAS) for ICAD in the US before and after SAMMPRIS and following the pivotal positive mechanical thrombectomy (MT) trials in 2015, MT utilization in the United States (US) has increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article , the authors sought to determine how COVID-19 status affects mechanical thrombectomy outcomes in the real-world setting in the United States and found that patients who were positive for COVID19 were more likely to be male, nonsmokers, have lower Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score, and present with intracranial internal carotid artery occlusions.
