Predictors of Functional Recovery after Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke in the Posterior Circulation (P8-5.012)
M. Galecio-Castillo,Juan José Méndez-Gallardo,A. Rodriguez-Calienes,Cynthia Zevallos,Mudassir Farooqui,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,J. Vivanco-Suarez +6 more
TL;DR: Ortega et al. as mentioned in this paper used Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA) to identify variables correlated with good and fair functional outcome, with a posterior probability cut-off of 60%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hyperacute immune responses associate with immediate neuropathology and motor dysfunction in large vessel occlusions
Mudassir Farooqui,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,Katherine A Hernandez,Vanessa O. Torres,Andres Dajles,Cynthia Zevallos,Darko Quispe-Orozco,Alan Mendez-Ruiz,Kenneth Manzel,Patrick Ten Eyck,Daniel Tranel,Nitin J. Karandikar,Sterling B. Ortega +12 more
TL;DR: In this article , the early activation of the adaptive immune response and its impact on neurological recovery in patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) was evaluated, and the results showed that LVO patients exhibit long-term functional decline regardless of the cortical reperfusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abstract WMP88: Endovascular Versus Medical Treatment For Chronic Occlusion Of The Internal Carotid Artery: Systematic Review And Meta-analysis
Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez,M. Galecio-Castillo,C. Zevallos Mau,Aaron Rodriguez Calienes,J. Vivanco-Suarez,Edgar A. Samaniego,Mudassir Farooqui,Colin P. Derdeyn +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors conducted a systematic search in Embase, Medline, and Web of Science for studies reporting short and long-term outcomes of symptomatic Carotid occlusion endovascular revascularization & stenting (COERS) patients who received MM and/or COERS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Antiplatelet Therapy in Acute Ischemic Stroke with Tandem Lesions (P7-5.001)
Mudassir Farooqui,M. Galecio-Castillo,Afshin A. Divani,Amer M. Malik,Nils Petersen,Johanna T Fifi,Waldo R. Guerrero,James E. Siegler,Thanh N. Nguyen,Sunil A Sheth,Albert J Yoo,Guillermo Linares,Nazli Janjua,Syed Zaidi,Jessica Kobsa,Ayush Prasad,Asad Ikram,Cynthia Zevallos,Darko Quispe Orozco,Manual Olivares Requena,Marta Olivé Gadea,Abid Y Qureshi,Tiffany Barkley,Andres Dajles,Stavros Matsoukas,Ameena Rana,Mohamad Abdalkader,Sergio Salazar Marioni,Jazba Soomro,J. Vivanco-Suarez,Randall C. Edgell,Maxim Mokin,Dileep R. Yavagal,Mouhammad A. Jumaa,Ameer E Hassan,Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez +35 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the effect of antiplatelet therapy in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) with tandem lesion was evaluated, where patients were divided into groups according to the number of anti-platelets administered at the time of endovascular therapy (EVT) procedure.
