New Water Soluble and Luminescent Platinum(II) Compounds, Vapochromic Behavior of [K(H2O)][Pt(bzq)(CN)2], New Examples of the Influence of the Counterion on the Photophysical Properties of d8 Square-Planar Complexes

TL;DR: A prominent absorption, which has maxima at about 550 nm and is responsible for their intense colors, are due to (1,3)MMLCT (= metal-metal-to-ligand charge transfer) [dsigma*(Pt) --> pi*(C=N)] transitions characteristic of linear-chain platinum complexes with short Pt...Pt contacts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Luminescence of Cyclometalated Compounds with Nitrile and Isocyanide Ligands

TL;DR: In this paper, the solid-state structures of the cation [Pt(C∧N)(CN-Xyl)2]+ with different counteranions (6a and 6b) were found to be different in terms of packing, although in both cases they were dominated by π−π intermolecular interactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extended structures containing Pt(II)–Tl(I) bonds. Effect of these interactions on the luminescence of cyclometalated Pt(II) compounds

TL;DR: Compounds and show extended 2-D networks by connection of the organometallic "PtTl(Cinsertion markN)(CN)(2)" units, through secondary TlN[triple bond, length as m-dash]C contacts and moderate pipi(bzq) interactions in the case of .
Journal ArticleDOI

Homo‐ and Heteropolynuclear Platinum Complexes Stabilized by Dimethylpyrazolato and Alkynyl Bridging Ligands: Synthesis, Structures, and Luminescence

TL;DR: The synthesis of cis-[Pt(C[triple bond]CPh)2(Hdmpz)2] (1) and its use as a precursor for the preparation of homo- and heteropolynuclear complexes are described and dual long-lived emission is observed, being clearly resolved in low-temperature rigid media.
