Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct Features and Functions of Systemic and Mucosal Humoral Immunity Among SARS-CoV-2 Convalescent Individuals.
Savannah E. Butler,Andrew R. Crowley,Harini Natarajan,Shiwei Xu,Joshua A. Weiner,Carly A. Bobak,Daniel E Mattox,Jiwon Lee,Wendy Wieland-Alter,Ruth I Connor,Peter F. Wright,Margaret E. Ackerman +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report systemic and mucosal antibody responses in convalescent individuals who experienced varying severity of disease, finding that robust neutralization and phagocytosis were apparent in nasal wash samples, while mucosal neutralization was associated with nasal SARS-CoV-2-specific IgA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibody responses to endemic coronaviruses modulate COVID-19 convalescent plasma functionality.
William R. Morgenlander,Stephanie N. Henson,Daniel R. Monaco,Athena Chen,Kirsten Littlefield,Evan M. Bloch,Eric Fujimura,Ingo Ruczinski,Andrew R. Crowley,Harini Natarajan,Savannah E. Butler,Joshua A. Weiner,Mamie Z. Li,Tania S. Bonny,Sarah E. Benner,Ashwin Balagopal,David Sullivan,David Sullivan,Shmuel Shoham,Thomas C. Quinn,Thomas C. Quinn,Susan H. Eshleman,Arturo Casadevall,Andrew D. Redd,Andrew D. Redd,Oliver Laeyendecker,Oliver Laeyendecker,Margaret E. Ackerman,Andrew Pekosz,Stephen J. Elledge,Matthew L Robinson,Aaron A.R. Tobian,H. Benjamin Larman +32 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed antibody functionality and reactivities to peptides across the CoV2 and the 4 endemic human coronavirus (HCoV) genomes in 126 CCP donations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Markers of Polyfunctional SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies in Convalescent Plasma.
Harini Natarajan,Andrew R. Crowley,Savannah E. Butler,Shiwei Xu,Joshua A. Weiner,Evan M. Bloch,Kirsten Littlefield,Wendy Wieland-Alter,Ruth I Connor,Peter F. Wright,Sarah E. Benner,Tania S. Bonny,Oliver Laeyendecker,Oliver Laeyendecker,David J. Sullivan,Shmuel Shoham,Thomas C. Quinn,Thomas C. Quinn,H. Benjamin Larman,Arturo Casadevall,Andrew Pekosz,Andrew D. Redd,Andrew D. Redd,Aaron A.R. Tobian,Margaret E. Ackerman +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of the diversity of antibody-mediated antiviral functions associated with convalescent plasma was used to define plasma samples with broad activity profiles, and these polyfunctional plasma samples could be reliably identified in multiple cohorts by multiplex assay, presenting a widely deployable screening test for plasma selection and investigation of vaccine-elicited responses.
Posted ContentDOI
SARS-CoV-2 antibody signatures robustly predict diverse antiviral functions relevant for convalescent plasma therapy
Harini Natarajan,Andrew R. Crowley,Savannah E. Butler,Shiwei Xu,Joshua A. Weiner,Evan M. Bloch,Kirsten Littlefield,Wendy Wieland-Alter,Ruth I. Connor,Peter F. Wright,Sarah E. Benner,Tania S. Bonny,Oliver Laeyendecker,Oliver Laeyendecker,David J. Sullivan,Shmuel Shoham,Thomas C. Quinn,Thomas C. Quinn,Larman Harry B,Arturo Casadevall,Andrew Pekosz,Andrew D. Redd,Andrew D. Redd,Aaron A.R. Tobian,Margaret E. Ackerman +24 more
TL;DR: This study functionally and phenotypically profiled plasma from eligible convalescent donors and suggested that high-throughput profiling could be used to screen donors and plasma may provide benefits beyond neutralization.

TL;DR: Analysis of coronavirus antibody fine specificities may be useful for selecting therapeutic plasma with desired functionalities for COVID-19 convalescent plasma donations.
