Pugsley,Sarah Reagan-Steiner,Frank DeStefano,Tom T. Shimabukuro +25 more
TL;DR: The risk of myocarditis after receiving mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines was increased across multiple age and sex strata and was highest after the second vaccination dose in adolescent males and young men.
Journal ArticleDOI
Review of Cardiac Involvement in Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children.
Tarek Alsaied,Adriana H. Tremoulet,Jane C. Burns,Arwa Saidi,Audrey Dionne,Audrey Dionne,Sean M. Lang,Jane W. Newburger,Jane W. Newburger,Sarah D. de Ferranti,Sarah D. de Ferranti,Kevin G. Friedman,Kevin G. Friedman +12 more
TL;DR: The published data on MIS-C is described, focusing on cardiac complications, and clinical considerations for cardiac evaluation and follow-up are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reported cases of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children aged 12–20 years in the USA who received a COVID-19 vaccine, December, 2020, through August, 2021: a surveillance investigation
Anna R Yousaf,Margaret M. Cortese,Allan W. Taylor,Karen R. Broder,Matthew E. Oster,Joshua M. Wong,Alice Guh,David W. McCormick,Satoshi Kamidani,Elizabeth P. Schlaudecker,Kathryn M. Edwards,C. Buddy Creech,Mary A. Staat,Ermias D. Belay,Paige Marquez,John R. Su,Mark B. Salzman,Deborah Thompson,Angela P Campbell,Oidda I. Museru,Leigh M Howard,Monica E. Parise,John J. Openshaw,Chloe LeMarchand,Lauren E Finn,Moon Kim,Kiran Raman,Kenneth Komatsu,Bryce Spiker,Cole Burkholder,Sean M. Lang,Jonathan H. Soslow +31 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that MIS-C after COVID-19 vaccination is rare, and continued reporting of potential cases and surveillance for MIS-MIS-C illnesses after CO VID- 19 vaccination is warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging Evaluation of Neonatal Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia-associated Pulmonary Hypertension.
Paul J. Critser,Nara S. Higano,Jean A. Tkach,Emilia S. Olson,David R. Spielberg,David R. Spielberg,Paul S. Kingma,Paul S. Kingma,Robert J. Fleck,Sean M. Lang,Ryan A. Moore,Michael D. Taylor,Jason C. Woods +12 more
TL;DR: Neonatal cardiac magnetic resonance imaging can provide important image-based measures of cardiac morphology that relate to disease severity and clinical outcomes in neonates with BPD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of liver T1 mapping in fontan patients and its correlation with magnetic resonance elastography-derived liver stiffness.
Preeti Ramachandran,Suraj D. Serai,Gruschen R. Veldtman,Sean M. Lang,Wojciech Mazur,Andrew T. Trout,Jonathan R. Dillman,Robert J. Fleck,Michael D. Taylor,Tarek Alsaied,Ryan A. Moore +10 more
TL;DR: Liver native T1 was significantly elevated in Fontan patients compared to controls and strongly correlated with MRE-derived liver stiffness, suggesting this technique may prove to be a useful noninvasive imaging biomarker for assessing liver fibrosis in the Fontan population.
