High Order Quaternary Arrangement Confers Increased Structural Stability to Brucella sp. Lumazine Synthase
Vanesa Zylberman,Patricio O. Craig,Sebastián Klinke,Bradford C. Braden,Ana Cauerhff,Fernando A. Goldbaum +5 more
TL;DR: The present work demonstrates by means of solution light scattering and x-ray structural analyses that BLS assembles as a very stable dimer of pentamers, representing a third category of quaternary assembly for lumazine synthases, and describes by spectroscopic studies the thermodynamic stability of this oligomeric protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure of the Full-Length Bacteriophytochrome from the Plant Pathogen Xanthomonas campestris Provides Clues to its Long-Range Signaling Mechanism.
Lisandro H. Otero,Sebastián Klinke,Jimena Rinaldi,Francisco Velazquez-Escobar,Maria Andrea Mroginski,Maria Fernandez Lopez,Florencia Malamud,Adrián Alberto Vojnov,Peter Hildebrandt,Fernando Alberto Goldbaum,Hernán Ruy Bonomi +10 more
TL;DR: Structural analyses suggest that the photoconversion between the Pr and Pfr states in the full-length XccBphP may involve changes in the relative positioning of the output module, contributing to understand the light-induced structural changes propagated from the photosensor to the output modules in phytochrome signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal Structure of the Peroxo-Diiron(III) Intermediate of Deoxyhypusine Hydroxylase, an Oxygenase Involved in Hypusination.
Zhenggang Han,Naoki Sakai,Lars H. Böttger,Sebastián Klinke,Joachim Hauber,Alfred X. Trautwein,Rolf Hilgenfeld +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the 1.7-A crystal structures of DOHHperoxo and a complex with glycerol were reported, showing the presence of a μ-1,2-peroxoxo-diiron(III) species at the active site.
Journal ArticleDOI
An Atypical Riboflavin Pathway Is Essential for Brucella abortus Virulence
Hernán Ruy Bonomi,María Inés Marchesini,Sebastián Klinke,Juan E. Ugalde,Vanesa Zylberman,Rodolfo A. Ugalde,Diego J. Comerci,Fernando Alberto Goldbaum +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that riboflavin biosynthesis is essential for Brucella survival inside cells or in mice and highlights the potential use of flavin biosynthetic pathway enzymes as targets for the chemotherapy of brucellosis.
Journal Article
Development of a hyperimmune equine serum therapy for COVID-19 in Argentina
Vanesa Zylberman,Santiago Sanguineti,Andrea Pontoriero,Sandra V Higa,Maria Laura Cerutti,Maria Laura Cerutti,Susana M Morrone Seijo,Romina Paola Pardo,Luciana Muñoz,María E Acuña Intrieri,María E Acuña Intrieri,Vanina Alzogaray,Martín Avaro,Estefanía Benedetti,Paula Mercedes Berguer,Laura Bocanera,Lucas Bukata,Marina S Bustelo,Ana M. Goldbaum,Fernando A. Goldbaum +49 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new therapeutic product obtained after immunization of horses with the receptor-binding domain of the viral Spike glycoprotein was presented, which showed around 50 times more potency in in vitro seroneutralization assays than the average of convalescent plasma.
