Atrial Fibrillation and Risk of Dementia: A Prospective Cohort Study
Sascha Dublin,Melissa L. Anderson,Sebastien Haneuse,Sebastien Haneuse,Sebastien Haneuse,Susan R. Heckbert,Susan R. Heckbert,Paul K. Crane,John C.S. Breitner,Wayne C. McCormick,James D. Bowen,Linda Teri,Susan M. McCurry,Susan M. McCurry,Eric B. Larson,Eric B. Larson +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated whether atrial fibrillation is associated with increased risk of incident dementia or Alzheimer disease, beyond its effect on stroke, and the results showed that it may increase dementia risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of dementia and AD with prior exposure to NSAIDs in an elderly community-based cohort
John C.S. Breitner,Sebastien Haneuse,Rod L. Walker,Sascha Dublin,Sascha Dublin,Paul K. Crane,Shelly L. Gray,Eric B. Larson +7 more
TL;DR: Contrary to the hypothesis that NSAIDs protect against AD, pharmacy-defined heavy NSAID users showed increased incidence of dementia and AD, with adjusted hazard ratios of 1.66 and 1.57, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of dementia and Alzheimer's disease in an older population: updated incidence and life expectancy with and without dementia.
Sarah E. Tom,Rebecca A. Hubbard,Paul K. Crane,Sebastien Haneuse,James Bowen,Wayne C. McCormick,Susan M. McCurry,Eric B. Larson +7 more
TL;DR: Efforts to delay onset of dementia, if successful, would likely benefit older adults of all ages.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using a Two-Step Method to Measure Transgender Identity in Latin America/the Caribbean, Portugal, and Spain
Sari L. Reisner,Sari L. Reisner,Katie B. Biello,Katie B. Biello,Joshua G. Rosenberger,S. Bryn Austin,S. Bryn Austin,Sebastien Haneuse,Amaya Perez-Brumer,Amaya Perez-Brumer,David S. Novak,Matthew J. Mimiaga,Matthew J. Mimiaga +12 more
TL;DR: Of the 12 health-related variables, six showed significant differences between the three groups: SES, masculine gender conformity, lifetime suicidality, depressive distress, positive self-worth, and past-year genital herpes; a two-step approach is recommended for health surveillance efforts to assess natal sex/gender identity status.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between margin distance and local recurrence among patients undergoing wedge resection for small (≤2 cm) non–small cell lung cancer
Kamran Mohiuddin,Sebastien Haneuse,Tamar Sofer,Ritu R. Gill,Michael T. Jaklitsch,Yolonda L. Colson,Jon O. Wee,Raphael Bueno,Steven J. Mentzer,David J. Sugarbaker,Scott J. Swanson +10 more
TL;DR: In wedge resection for small non-small cell lung cancer, increasing the margin distance ≤15 mm significantly decreased the local recurrence risk, with no evidence of additional benefit beyond 15 mm.
