Journal ArticleDOI
Biologic activity of cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 antibody blockade in previously vaccinated metastatic melanoma and ovarian carcinoma patients
F. Stephen Hodi,Martin C. Mihm,Robert J. Soiffer,Frank G. Haluska,Marcus O. Butler,Michael V. Seiden,Thomas A. Davis,Rochele Henry-Spires,Suzanne MacRae,Ann Willman,Robert F. Padera,Michael T. Jaklitsch,Sridhar Shankar,Teresa C. Chen,Alan J. Korman,James P. Allison,Glenn Dranoff +16 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that CTLA-4 antibody blockade increases tumor immunity in some previously vaccinated cancer patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resection margins, extrapleural nodal status, and cell type determine postoperative long-term survival in trimodality therapy of malignant pleural mesothelioma: Results in 183 patients
David J. Sugarbaker,Raja M. Flores,Michael T. Jaklitsch,William G. Richards,Gary M. Strauss,Joseph M. Corson,Malcolm M. DeCamp,Scott J. Swanson,Raphael Bueno,Jeanne M. Lukanich,Elizabeth H. Baldini,Steven J. Mentzer +11 more
TL;DR: Multimodality therapy including extrapleural pneumonectomy is feasible in selected patients with malignant pleural mesotheliomas, pre-resectional evaluation ofextrapleural nodes may select patients for radical therapy, microscopic resection margins affect long-term survival, highlighting the need for further investigation of locoregional control.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunologic and clinical effects of antibody blockade of cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 in previously vaccinated cancer patients
F. Stephen Hodi,Marcus O. Butler,Darryl A. Oble,Michael V. Seiden,Michael V. Seiden,Frank G. Haluska,Andrea Kruse,Suzanne MacRae,Marybeth Nelson,Christine Canning,Israel Lowy,Alan J. Korman,David B. Lautz,Sara Russell,Michael T. Jaklitsch,Nikhil H. Ramaiya,Teresa C. Chen,Donna Neuberg,James P. Allison,Martin C. Mihm,Glenn Dranoff +20 more
TL;DR: It is shown that periodic infusions of anti-CTLA-4 antibodies after vaccination with irradiated, autologous tumor cells engineered to secrete GM-CSF (GVAX) generate clinically meaningful antitumor immunity without grade 3 or 4 toxicity in a majority of metastatic melanoma patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Angiogenic-induced enhancement of collateral blood flow to ischemic myocardium by vascular endothelial growth factor in dogs.
Shmuel Banai,Michael T. Jaklitsch,Matie Shou,Daisy F. Lazarous,Mickey Scheinowitz,S. Biro,S E Epstein,Ellis F. Unger +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that intracoronary VEGF enhances the development of small coronary arteries supplying ischemic myocardium, resulting in marked augmentation of maximal collateral blood flow delivery and suggests a new therapeutic approach for the treatment of myocardial ischemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
The American Association for Thoracic Surgery guidelines for lung cancer screening using low-dose computed tomography scans for lung cancer survivors and other high-risk groups
Michael T. Jaklitsch,Francine L. Jacobson,John H. M. Austin,John K. Field,James R. Jett,Shaf Keshavjee,Heber MacMahon,James L. Mulshine,Reginald F. Munden,Ravi Salgia,Gary M. Strauss,Scott J. Swanson,William D. Travis,David J. Sugarbaker +13 more
TL;DR: The American Association for Thoracic Surgery provides specific guidelines for lung cancer screening in North America with low-dose computed tomography for groups at high risk of developing lung cancer and survivors of previous lung cancer.
