Journal ArticleDOI
Ryanodine receptor mutations (G4946E and I4790K) differentially responsible for diamide insecticide resistance in diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L.
Akiya Jouraku,Seigo Kuwazaki,Kazuhisa Miyamoto,Makoto Uchiyama,Tatsuki Kurokawa,Emiko Mori,Masayuki X. Mori,Yasuo Mori,Shoji Sonoda +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) strains showing high-level resistance to cyantraniliprole (KA17 strain) and to flubendiamide (FLB) equivalent to those in the KU13 strain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping and recombination analysis of two moth colour mutations, Black moth and Wild wing spot, in the silkworm Bombyx mori
Katsuhiko Ito,Susumu Katsuma,Seigo Kuwazaki,Akiya Jouraku,Toshiaki Fujimoto,Ken Sahara,Yuji Yasukochi,Kimiko Yamamoto,Hiroko Tabunoki,Takeshi Yokoyama,Keiko Kadono-Okuda,Toru Shimada +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the genes responsible for wing and body colour in B. mori may be associated with similar genes in other Lepidoptera, including Biston betularia and Heliconius butterflies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular evaluation of diamide resistance in diamondback moth (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) populations using quantitative sequencing
TL;DR: A method to estimate proportions of the G4946E mutation in the ryanodine receptor gene, a major mechanism of diamide insecticide resistance, was developed for Plutella xylostella Linnaeus populations using quantitative sequencing (QS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide SNP marker discovery and phylogenetic analysis of mulberry varieties using double-digest restriction site-associated DNA sequencing
Linah Muhonja,Hiroaki Yamanouchi,Ching-chia Yang,Seigo Kuwazaki,Kakeru Yokoi,Tsunenori Kameda,Hideki Sezutsu,Akiya Jouraku +7 more
TL;DR: It was suggested that it was difficult to clearly classify the hybridized mulberry varieties even with genome-wide DNA markers, and morphological characteristics of mulberry leaves for each variety suggested that leaf tip ratio might be used for evaluating hybridization of M. bombycis varieties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin, selection, and spread of diamide insecticide resistance allele in field populations of diamondback moth in east and southeast Asia.
Ryuji Uesugi,Akiya Jouraku,Suprada Sukonthabhirom Na Pattalung,Norihide Hinomoto,Seigo Kuwazaki,Hiroyuki Kanamori,Yuichi Katayose,Shoji Sonoda +7 more
TL;DR: The information of the present study is useful to monitor resistance using molecular markers and to develop strategies to delay the evolution of diamide resistance.
