Growth and Interlayer Engineering of 2D Layered Semiconductors for Future Electronics.
Chanwoo Song,Gichang Noh,Gichang Noh,Tae Soo Kim,Min Soo Kang,Hwayoung Song,Ayoung Ham,Min-kyung Jo,Min-kyung Jo,Seorin Cho,Hyun-Jun Chai,Seong Rae Cho,Kiwon Cho,Jeongwon Park,Seungwoo Song,Intek Song,Sunghwan Bang,Joon Young Kwak,Kibum Kang +18 more
TL;DR: This review describes the preparation method of layered materials and suggests interlayer engineering via intercalation as a method for the development of artificial crystal and inevitable factors that layered materials must face to be used as electronic applications will be introduced with possible solutions.

Enhancement of Photoresponse on Narrow-Bandgap Mott Insulator α-RuCl3 via Intercalation
Min-kyung Jo,Min-kyung Jo,Hoseok Heo,Jung-Hoon Lee,Seungwook Choi,Ansoon Kim,Han Beom Jeong,Hu Young Jeong,Jong Min Yuk,Daejin Eom,Junghoon Jahng,Eun Seong Lee,In-Young Jung,Seong Rae Cho,Jeongtae Kim,Seorin Cho,Kibum Kang,Seungwoo Song +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed significant enhancement of optoelectronic properties of a layered Mott insulator, α-RuCl3, through electron doping by organic cation intercalation, which led to substantial electronic structure change, leading to the bandgap shrinkage from 1.2 eV to 0.7 eV.
