Journal ArticleDOI
Separate insertion and deletion subcomplexes of the Trypanosoma brucei RNA editing complex.
Achim Schnaufer,Nancy Lewis Ernst,Nancy Lewis Ernst,Setareh S. Palazzo,Setareh S. Palazzo,Jeff O'Rear,Reza Salavati,Reza Salavati,Kenneth Stuart,Kenneth Stuart +9 more
TL;DR: Insight is provided into the molecular architecture of the editosome and supports the existence of separate subcomplexes for deletion and insertion editing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Two Novel Proteins, TbMP52 and TbMP48, with the Trypanosoma brucei RNA Editing Complex
Aswini K. Panigrahi,Steven P. Gygi,Nancy Lewis Ernst,Robert P. Igo,Setareh S. Palazzo,Achim Schnaufer,David S. Weston,Nicole Carmean,Reza Salavati,Ruedi Aebersold,Kenneth Stuart +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that Tb MP52 and TbMP48 are components of the RNA editing complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Four Related Proteins of the Trypanosoma brucei RNA Editing Complex
Aswini K. Panigrahi,Achim Schnaufer,Nicole Carmean,Robert P. Igo,Steven P. Gygi,Nancy Lewis Ernst,Setareh S. Palazzo,David S. Weston,Ruedi Aebersold,Ruedi Aebersold,Reza Salavati,Kenneth Stuart +11 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that these four proteins are components of the RNA editing complex and that Tb MP63 and TbMP52 can interact.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uridylate addition and RNA ligation contribute to the specificity of kinetoplastid insertion RNA editing.
TL;DR: The development of a novel in vitro precleaved editing assay and its use to study the gRNA specificity of the U addition and RNA ligation steps in insertion RNA editing suggest that both the U added and RNALigation steps contributed to the precision of RNA editing.
Journal ArticleDOI
TbMP81 is required for RNA editing in Trypanosoma brucei
TL;DR: Results indicate that TbMP81 is required for RNA editing and suggest that the editing complex is functionally partitioned, while elimination of Tb MP48 by RNAi repression did not inhibit cell growth or in vivo editing in either bloodstream or procyclic forms.
