Journal ArticleDOI

Homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction for preconcentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons using a water/methanol/chloroform ternary component system.

TL;DR: The proposed method was successfully applied for the extraction and determination of the PAHs in waste water samples and the relative standard deviations were obtained in the range of 4.2-10.3% (n=5).
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption of Crystal Violet and Methylene Blue on Azolla and Fig Leaves Modified with Magnetite Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, the adsorption of Crystal violet and Methylene blue as cationic dyes on the surface of magnetite nanoparticles loaded Fig leaves (MNLFL) and magnetite nano-nodes loaded Azolla (MNLA) as natural cheap sources of adsorbents was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Organic/inorganic MCM-41 magnetite nanocomposite as a solid acid catalyst for synthesis of benzo[α]xanthenone derivatives

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of organic-inorganic mesoporous magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs@MCM-41) as a new class of solid acid catalyst with large density of sulfonic acid groups was suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of amino glucose-functionalized silica-coated NiFe2O4 nanoparticles: A heterogeneous, new and magnetically separable catalyst for the solvent-free synthesis of 2,4,5–trisubstituted imidazoles, benzo[d]imidazoles, benzo[d] oxazoles and azo-linked benzo[d]oxazoles

TL;DR: Amino glucose-functionalized silica-coated NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were chemically synthesized and characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), energy dispersive Xray analysis (EDX), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), Zetasizer and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) instruments as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Taguchi OA16 orthogonal array design for the optimization of cloud point extraction for selenium determination in environmental and biological samples by tungsten-modified tube electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry

TL;DR: Orthogonal array design was applied for the first time to optimize cloud point extraction (CPE) conditions for Se(IV) determination by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) in environmental and biological samples and revealed that the most important factors contributing to the extraction efficiency are ionic strength, pH and percent of surfactant.
