Chromium biogeochemical behaviour in soil-plant systems and remediation strategies: A critical review.
Ming Ao,Xiaoting Chen,Teng-Hao-Bo Deng,Shengsheng Sun,Ye-Tao Tang,Jean Louis Morel,Rongliang Qiu,Rongliang Qiu,Shizhong Wang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the mechanisms of heavy metal uptake, transport and accumulation in soil-plant systems aiming to reduce the toxicity and ecological risk of chromium (Cr) in soil is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Natural source of Cr(VI) in soil: The anoxic oxidation of Cr(III) by Mn oxides.
Ming Ao,Shengsheng Sun,Tenghaobo Deng,Feng Zhang,Ting Liu,Yetao Tang,Jingjing Li,Shizhong Wang,Rongliang Qiu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , the relationship between Cr(VI) and Mn oxides in basalt-origin soil profiles under three different redox conditions (anoxic, suboxic and oxic) was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enrichment and speciation of chromium during basalt weathering: Insights from variably weathered profiles in the Leizhou Peninsula, South China.
Shengsheng Sun,Ming Ao,Ke-Rui Geng,Jie-Qian Chen,Tenghaobo Deng,Jingjie Li,Zeting Guan,Bingguo Mo,Ting Liu,Wenjun Yang,Ye-Tao Tang,Rongliang Qiu +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper , two basalt-derived soil profiles (Nitisol and Ferralsol) in the Leizhou Peninsula, south tropical China, were investigated to explore the redistribution and transformation of chromium during basalt weathering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increasing soil Mn abundance promotes the dissolution and oxidation of Cr(III) and increases the accumulation of Cr in rice grains.
Ming Ao,Tenghaobo Deng,Shengsheng Sun,Mengyao Li,Jingjing Li,Ting Liu,Bofang Yan,Wen-Shen Liu,Guo-bao Wang,Dedao Jing,Yuanqing Chao,Ye-Tao Tang,Rongliang Qiu,Shizhong Wang +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the effect of radial oxygen loss (ROL) and Mn abundance on rice Cr uptake and accumulation in paddy soil and showed that ROL and Mn(II) addition to the soil led to more Cr(III) being released into the pore water, and the dissolved Cr (III) was oxidized to Cr(VI) by ROLs and biogenic Mn(III/IV) oxides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nano Zero-Valent Iron Enhances the Mobilization and Absorption of Chromium in Rice (Oryza Sativa L.): Implication for Cr Risks Management in Paddy Fields
