TL;DR: This document may be broadly used as a standard reference regarding the current state of theIVOCT imaging modality, intended for researchers and clinicians who use IVOCT and analyze IVO CT data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of culprit lesion morphology in acute myocardial infarction: ability of optical coherence tomography compared with intravascular ultrasound and coronary angioscopy.
Takashi Kubo,Toshio Imanishi,Shigeho Takarada,Akio Kuroi,Satoshi Ueno,Takashi Yamano,Takashi Tanimoto,Yoshiki Matsuo,Takashi Masho,Hironori Kitabata,Kazushi Tsuda,Yoshiaki Tomobuchi,Takashi Akasaka +12 more
TL;DR: Optical coherence tomography is a feasible imaging modality in patients with AMI and allows us to identify not only plaque rupture, but also fibrous cap erosion, intracoronary thrombus, and TCFA in vivo more frequently compared with conventional imaging techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Heterogeneity of Human Peripheral Blood Monocyte Subsets on Myocardial Salvage in Patients With Primary Acute Myocardial Infarction
Hiroto Tsujioka,Toshio Imanishi,Hideyuki Ikejima,Akio Kuroi,Shigeho Takarada,Takashi Tanimoto,Hironori Kitabata,Keishi Okochi,Yu Arita,Kohei Ishibashi,Kenichi Komukai,Hideaki Kataiwa,Nobuo Nakamura,Kumiko Hirata,Atsuhsi Tanaka,Takashi Akasaka +15 more
TL;DR: The peak levels of CD14(+)CD16(-) monocytes affect both the extent of myocardial salvage and the recovery of left ventricular function after AMI, indicating that the manipulation of monocyte heterogeneity could be a novel therapeutic target for salvaging ischemic damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feasibility of Noninvasive Assessment of Thin-Cap Fibroatheroma by Multidetector Computed Tomography
Manabu Kashiwagi,Atsushi Tanaka,Hironori Kitabata,Hiroto Tsujioka,Hideaki Kataiwa,Kenichi Komukai,Takashi Tanimoto,Kazushi Takemoto,Shigeho Takarada,Takashi Kubo,Kumiko Hirata,Nobuo Nakamura,Masato Mizukoshi,Toshio Imanishi,Takashi Akasaka +14 more
TL;DR: MDCT can identify differences in plaque morphologies between TCFA and non-TCFA, and may provide for the noninvasive assessment of vulnerable plaque.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of statin therapy on coronary fibrous-cap thickness in patients with acute coronary syndrome: assessment by optical coherence tomography study.
Shigeho Takarada,Toshio Imanishi,Takashi Kubo,Takashi Tanimoto,Hironori Kitabata,Nobuo Nakamura,Atsushi Tanaka,Masato Mizukoshi,Takashi Akasaka +8 more
TL;DR: The lipid-lowering therapy with statin for 9 months after the onset of acute myocardial infarction significantly increased the fibrous-cap thickness in patients with hyperlipidemia.
