Journal ArticleDOI
Soluble Urokinase Receptor and Chronic Kidney Disease
Salim S. Hayek,Sanja Sever,Yi-An Ko,Howard Trachtman,Mosaab Awad,Shikha Wadhwani,Mehmet M. Altintas,Changli Wei,Anna L. Hotton,Audrey L. French,Laurence S. Sperling,Stamatios Lerakis,Arshed A. Quyyumi,Jochen Reiser +13 more
TL;DR: An elevated level of suPAR was independently associated with incident chronic kidney disease and an accelerated decline in the eGFR in the groups studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bone marrow-derived immature myeloid cells are a main source of circulating suPAR contributing to proteinuric kidney disease
Eunsil Hahm,Changli Wei,Isabel Fernandez,Jing Li,Nicholas J. Tardi,Melissa Tracy,Shikha Wadhwani,Cao Yanxia,Vasil Peev,Andrew Zloza,Jevgenijs Lusciks,Salim S. Hayek,Christopher L. O’Connor,Markus Bitzer,Vineet Gupta,Sanja Sever,David B. Sykes,David T. Scadden,Jochen Reiser +18 more
TL;DR: It is reported that bone marrow (BM) Gr-1lo immature myeloid cells are responsible for the elevated, pathological levels of suPAR, and this results identify suPAR as a functional connection between the BM and the kidney, and they implicate BM immature myELoid cells as a key contributor to glomerular dysfunction.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Systematic Review of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Associated Glomerular Disease.
Abhijat Kitchlu,Kenar D. Jhaveri,Shikha Wadhwani,Priya P Deshpande,Ziv Harel,Teruko Kishibe,Kammi J. Henriksen,Rimda Wanchoo +7 more
TL;DR: Oncologists and nephrologists must be aware of glomerular pathologies associated with ICI and consider kidney biopsy when features atypical for AIN are present and ICI-associated glomersular disease may be associated with poor kidney and mortality outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interstitial laser therapy of breast fibroadenomas with 6 and 8 year follow-up.
TL;DR: The laser treatment in two patients, one with bilateral fibroadenomas, with 6 and 8 year follow‐up is presented and it is shown that the patients benefit from the laser treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
A possible mechanism of hyperlipidemia in a patient with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer on lorlatinib therapy
Katherine McGee,Neil J. Stone,Shikha Wadhwani,Yashpal S. Kanwar,Victoria M. Villaflor,Nausheen Akhter +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the case of a woman who developed hyperlipidemia on lorlatinib therapy found to have minimal change disease and review therapies for cancer known to alter the lipid profile.
